Errol I've been privately obsessed with the Universal SNAP idea for a minute now and I'm wondering if you're aware of anyone who's crunched the numbers on what that proposal could look like. Only one I've found is this:

Add in more support for farmers market operations so more farmers can keep the retail price of what they sell and grow more biodiverse crops (tasty though not necessarily durable for shipping), more small businesses can use the lower barrier to entry to incubate human scale enterprises and more of us eaters gain a real relationship with and understanding of the folks who produce our (real) food.

Sounds good to me. My newsletter is focused on the $1 trillion grocery industry but I still love farmers markets and want to see them thrive.
