We need more narratives like this. The rhetoric of glamorizing our ancestors diets is bizarre and erasing. This is so real, and so many people have similar stories.
Awesome. My Grandfathers were grocers - Brewer's Grocery in Waycross GA sitting right next to the tracks serving all communities, and a Step-Grandfathers produce stand where I spent time in summers learning about tomatoes, peaches, storage, stacking, and picking watermelons out of the fields at ungodly o'clock in the morning...(in order to be back in time to stack the tomatoes for the day).
